A group of girls in Years 3-6 attended the Durham Girls Football Festival at Maiden Castle this week to work on their football technique.

They took part in a series of activities to develop football skills and team building skills.

Kaitlin said: "I enjoyed learning new skills especially controlling the ball and stopping it using different body parts."

Rosie said: "I liked the way the coaches didn’t rush us through the activities and gave us plenty of time to practise our new skills."

Lili-Mai said: "I enjoyed learning how to dribble the ball which I found tricky before today."

All the girls were excellent representatives of Sacriston Academy and someone even commented on how smart the girls looked in their school kit, especially their purple socks. Well done girls!
