A group of pupils have been discussing exciting plans for our new playground with Estates Manager, Mr Crosby and Ms Inkster.
The island block is due for demolition in the summer holidays and a number of proposals have been put forward to replace the building with an adventure playground and MUGA sports surface.
The children were invited to the meeting to give their perspective, a fantastic opportunity for them to be an integral part of the decision-making process having previously discussed it with their classes. At the end of the meeting, Mr Crosby thanked the children and stated he was incredibly impressed with their conduct and their ability to reason and justify their choices.
Our pupils returned to their classes and gave a small presentation to the other children so they too are kept informed of all developments.
Looking ahead, the preferred bidder will attend a meeting to discuss the design changes and timescales needed to complete the project. Exciting times!
