This week, Sacriston Academy was recognised for our dedication and commitment to educating pupils, staff and the wider community about the role of parliament.
Miss Towers has been recognised as a UK Parliament Teacher Ambassador at gold level - the highest that can be achieved.
In January last year, Miss Towers was successful in her application for a place at the Parliamentary Teachers' Institute and since this training, has planned a range of events and lessons to teach our children about democracy and the role of parliament.
Our children have thoroughly enjoyed learning about parliament and look forward to learning even more!
