We are thrilled to announce that Sacriston Academy has been accredited with the Rights Respecting Silver award!
The Rights Respecting Schools Award is an initiative run by Unicef to recognise a school's dedication to putting the rights of children at the heart of everything they do. The award is based on the principles of equality, respect, non-discrimination and participation.
Yesterday, our Year 5 and 6 pupils met with a member of Unicef to discuss the work that we do in school surrounding the rights of our children. Our assessor was blown away, not only by their knowledge but also their understanding of the importance of respecting and advocating for the rights of children globally.
We are incredibly proud of the hard work of our pupils over the last three years - well done silver Sacriston stars!
