What an inspirational morning we have had here at Sacriston Academy. We were delighted to welcome Jack Hunter Spivey, bronze paralympic table tennis champion to our school.
He spoke to the children about his disability, the obstacles he has faced and his ongoing determination to be the best he can be. Our children were able to ask many thoughtful questions about disability and sporting achievements. They even got to hold his bronze medal!
Jack commended our children saying we were one of the best schools he has visited. He was blown away by our positive attitudes and caring ethos.
It was our pleasure to have an olympic star in our wonderful school. We look forward to cheering Jack on at the Commonwealth Games and Olympics 2024!
