Everyone across the entire school has been preparing flags in different innovative ways ready for the Platinum Jubilee.
Take a look what they created below...
Reception created their own Union Jack flag to celebrate the Queen's Jubilee. The class looked at flag photographs and talked about where the different colours needed to go then worked as a team to paint the flag using a printing technique.
Year 1 created their own dance to celebrate, using their excellent performing skills to dance to the national anthem and a familiar song from an iconic British duo - Ant and Dec! The group had lots of fun sharing ideas of some fun and funky dance moves.
Year 2 posed for their own coronation portrait and used this image to create a large Union Jack Flag for their banner. The group cut out their faces and in small teams collated them on a template to represent red, white and blue.
Year 3 created a timeline of the Queen's life, drawing famous events from throughout her life including her childood, wedding, coronation, jubilees and important birthdays. The drawings were put into chronological order by the class to make a wonderful timeline.
Year 4 decorated cakes to mark the special event using frosting, strawberries and blueberries to recreate the Union Jack flag on top of a chocolate loaf. These cakes will be available at the bake sale at the jubilee party!
Year 5 have spent time discussing and designing their own football strip relating to the Queen's Jubilee. The group thought about what the football shirt would look like as well as the colours and patterns used. The class created amazing shirts and some designs even included the Queen's favourite dog - the corgi!
Our eldest children in Year 6 designed their own commemorative coin to mark the occasion. After finalising their designs, the class used tools to carve intricate patterns and pictures into clay.
