Yesterday, Year 6 took an inspiring trip to Nissan to take part in the Monozukuri Caravan Project which aims to give children a unique insight into the art of car manufacturing.

Pupils worked in teams to construct a new Nissan car with everyone given a particular role on the production line. Pupils were timed and the best team was the one who made the highest quality vehicles in the shortest time.

Pupils later enjoyed a tour of the training workshop where they saw all of the machinery used within the factory including a very clever robot who spoke to them and drew them an excellent picture!

Finally, they got 'hands on' with the tools and tasks that the Nissan workers would be expected to do on the job.

Everyone had a fantastic day - there may even be some future engineers in Year 6!
