A group of our Year 6 pupils had a great day attending the 'Bring It On!' event at the Stadium of Light, which aims to show children the types of career that subjects such as maths, science and technology can lead to.
The children were able to drive diggers, use coding to control robots and a working pedometer and try out virtual reality headsets.
David said: "I liked the coding. It was brilliant because it helped us to realise what working hard in school can lead to! I was fascinated by the F1-style Nissan cars and how quickly they travelled. I have been inspired to find out more about how they work."
Nathan said: "My favourite part of the trip was the racing cars because they went so fast they created steam. This trip has inspired me to be an engineer when I am older."
Tilly said: "Our trip was great. It has made me rethink my dreams and what I aspire to be."
