On Monday, we had the pleasure of welcoming world-class rugby player, Katy Daley-McLean MBE, into school for a fun-packed day of rugby.
Katy, the English Women’s Rugby Captain, ran workshops with each class in which they learnt how to catch and throw before playing a game of tag rugby. She was very inspirational and taught the children the importance of skills such as resilience and good communication. She left us with a positive message: "never give up on your dreams!".
Oliver in Year 3 said: "We learned a lot about how to catch the rugby ball using the 'W'".
Jayden in Year 3 said: "It was fantastic! We learned games and how to play tag rugby."
Joshua in Year 4 said: "I liked how she showed us all of her medals, like her Olympic medal. It was good to have someone famous in our school."
Katie in Year 6 said: "Playing rugby with Katy was great fun and she taught us to never give up."
