To commemorate Remembrance Day, this morning two of our Year 6 Rights Respecting Ambassadors laid a wreath at Sacriston war memorial on behalf of our school.
As part of today's school assembly, our children learnt about Bugler Albert Victor Lamb, who died in World War I and was buried at Ridge Wood Military Cemetery in Belgium. Albert previously lived in Mount Pleasant, Sacriston. At 11am the whole school observed a two-minute silence to remember all those who lost their lives in conflict.
We are pleased to announce that through our poppy appeal we raised £366.93 which will now be donated to the Royal British Legion.
