At Sacriston Academy we are always thinking of different ways to make sure that our children are supported not only in their physical health but also their mental health too. On Tuesday, all of our children, from Nursery up to Year 6, took part in a yoga session with Steph from KalmaLife.
As part of the focus on mental health and wellbeing all of the children repeated the mantra "I am strong. I am kind. I am caring. I am enough. I am worthy. I am brave. I am loved." to reaffirm how amazing they are!
Yoga is a calming exercise that helps our children to regulate their breathing and their emotions- something that the children can apply to their wider lives if they ever feel frustrated or upset. Yoga has been proven to support concentration and memory as well as flexibility and strength.
To top it off Steph couldn't believe how focused and well-mannered all our children are. She said that it was a joy to join us and work with all our lovely children.
