In spirit of the Christian holiday, pupils across school spent an afternoon learning at Pentecost!
After learning the story and meaning of Pentecost, Year 1 acted out each part of the story in a freeze frame and as a class, discussed how they are going to perform an act of kindness over the weekend to change or impact someone's day.
Year 2 talked about the symbolism of the dove and the colour red. The group talked about something positive they wanted to do that week, how a common theme throughout any religion is about being a good person and how Christians try to achieve this by reminding themselves of the Holy Spirit.
After learning about how the Holy Spirit came to the disciples as a mighty wind, Year 3 made their own wind spinners, decorating them with symbolic images including fire and doves.
Year 4 then decorated their own wind spinners with religious symbols including the colour red which represents the fire and doves which are a symbol of the Holy Spirit.
Year 5 completed a comic strip based on the story of Pentecost. The group produced some incredible drawings and explanations based on the story and really enjoyed interpreting the story in their own way.
Great work everyone!
