In Year 2, we're getting stuck into our new 'Magnificent Monarchs' topic, looking at the wild and wonderful rulers of English history.
This week we spoke all about Elizabeth I, the last Tudor monarch. We looked at her many impacts on history, like supporting world exploration and defeating the Spanish during the Spanish Armada! We drew portraits of her infamous dad Henry VIII, known for his fickle choice in wives, as we spoke about his rule.
Here's what some of the class had to say about the ruthless ruler...
Ethan reminded us: "Don't forget he had six wives!" while Kian explained that his wives were "divorced, beheaded, died, divorced, beheaded, survived".
Alfie isn't his biggest fan as he pointed out that "he was cruel to commoners and thought only the rich people should party and enjoy life."
