Today we had a very special guest in school... Our local MP Kevan Jones (and his dog Biff!) made the journey over to Sacriston Academy in light of our fantastic Ofsted report, to take a look around the school and meet our wonderful pupils.
Although Biff may have stolen the show on occasion, pupils were very excited to meet Kevan and speak to him about his role. Each class were very curious and had plenty of great questions to ask. For example, 'what laws have you recently made?', 'what's your favourite thing about the job?', 'what does Parliament look like?', and of course, 'how old is Biff?'
Pupils told Kevan all about the equipment and resources they get to use in school as well as introducing him the school's values and beliefs, such as, 'if we can't manage to do something, it's not that we can't do it but rather we can't do it yet!'
Everyone had a lot of fun meeting Kevan and Biff!
