Year 5 delved into their new topic, 'Dynamic Dynasties'.
The class explored the dig of Yinxu and the ancient artefacts that were discovered. The group teamed up in pairs and took on the role of archaeologists. Using a research grid and an information leaflet the groups identified the material, use and historical information of the artefact to help figure out more about life in the Shang Dynasty.
From this, the group learnt that the civilians were very spiritual, believing that carvings into bones (oracle bones) reflected what would happen in their future and that they believed owls were messengers between the human and spirit worlds.
Well done Year 5!
