Year 4

To my amazing Year 4 class,

I hope you are all staying safe at home and working as hard as ever (I know you will be!). I am missing you ever so much! I miss the jokes we share, the laughs we have and all of the learning we do together. Most importantly, however, I feel better knowing that you are all safe indoors and working at home.

Speaking of working at home, you will notice from my photograph that I have got a new dog! His name is Charlie and he is helping me every day with my work. He is very good at helping me to remember things (you know what Mr Ratton’s memory is like!)

These are very strange times that we are living in at the moment, so why not grab this opportunity with both hands?! Thank you ever so much to those people that have been accessing Times Table Rockstars, completing the 2dos on Purple Mash and the tasks I have set on EdShed. Make sure you are leaving a comment when you complete a piece of work where possible, I will respond to all of these when I am working at home!

I know you are all Times Table Rockers and that you love the game so much. But, when you’re having a break from the iPad/computer/laptop, why not create your own little times table game? It could be just for you or a game you play with parents or siblings, who knows?!

I know we have lots of authors in the making in our classroom. So, to ensure we are keeping up with our fantastic writing skills, why not keep a diary about each day at home? I look forward to hearing all your stories when you’re back and what better way to make sure you don’t forget them than writing it all down?

I miss listening to you all read immensely but don’t let that go to waste! Can you read to an adult every day? If they are unable to listen, why not read to one of your siblings?

Also, is there anything else you wanted to know about the digestive system? Now is your chance to take control of your own learning and research what we missed! Or could you possibly get a head start on our Road Trip USA topic? You have those knowledge organisers to help you!

Finally, to reiterate what I said at the beginning, stay safe! Keep smiling and keep on keeping on!

Take care,

Mr Ratton

Calming bedtime story from CBeebies

We know it is a very unusual time for us all at the moment that may make us feel worried or anxious. It is important we share our worries, if you have any, talking about them with people you care about can help.
